Rustic Margherita
Sometimes less is more. This classic pizza relies entirely on the quality of its ingredients: San Marzano tomatoes, fresh mozzarella, and a blistered crust.
Ingredients
Method
Preheat the Oven
Preheat your oven to its highest setting (usually around 250°C/500°F). If using a pizza stone, place it in the oven while it preheats.
Shape the Dough
On a lightly floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough into a 10-12 inch circle. Transfer the dough to a piece of parchment paper or a pizza peel.
Top the Pizza
Spread an even, thin layer of tomato sauce over the dough, leaving a small border for the crust. Distribute the slices of fresh mozzarella evenly.
Bake and Garnish
Bake for 10-12 minutes until the crust is golden and blistered, and the cheese is bubbling. Remove from the oven, scatter fresh basil on top, and drizzle with olive oil before slicing.
